Derrius Guice will not play on Thursday, according to Jay Gruden

Add Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice to the growing list of players who will not see any action on Thursday night in the second preseason game of the year vs. the Cincinnati Bengals.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden revealed on Wednesday afternoon, following a team walkthrough, that Guice has yet to be cleared to play by training staff after recovering from a torn ACL suffered last year in the preseason. Guice has worked with the team in practices extensively over the summer, but as of yet, he is not ready to play in live-action games.

Earlier on Wednesday, Gruden told the media that quarterback Colt McCoy would also be held out of Thursday’s game, and fans can expect to see a long list of inactive players released sometime within the next 12-18 hours. As it is the second week of the preseason, expect another 60 minutes of football filled with unfamiliar names and less than star talent.
