Derrius Guice will likely play Thursday in Atlanta, while Trey Quinn will sit

The Washington Redskins will travel to Atlanta on Thursday to take on the Falcons in their third preseason game of the season. With the regular season inching closer, more and more starters can expect to see the field, and game intensity is sure to increase.

Ahead of the game, coach Jay Gruden met with the media to offer updates on a few key players, and how they will likely be utilized going forward — mainly Derrius Guice and where he currently stands with his rehabbed knee injury.

Guice has been held out of both preseason games so far, as Gruden says he isn’t cleared to play full contact just yet. However, all signs point towards him seeing some action for the first time in over a year on Thursday night.

Aside from Guice, slot receiver Trey Quinn and his health came into question, with Gruden ruling him out for Thursday’s game.

Quinn is expected to make a leap this season as one of the team’s primary pass-catchers, but a nagging thumb injury might delay that coming out party. Fellow receiver, Paul Richardson, is also dealing with an injury, is unlikely to play against the Falcons, though that hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.
