Derrius Guice and Colt McCoy expected to be active for training camp

As the Washington Redskins take stock of things on the eve of training camp, they probably feel pretty good about where they stand.

There are a few question marks here and there, sure. But overall, Washington’s roster is largely healthy and ready to go for the 2019 season.

Speaking at Tuesday’s River City Classic golf tournament in Richmond, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said that quarterback Colt McCoy will be “ready to go” when the first practice comes around on Thursday, according to Michael Phillips, with the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Gruden also expressed confidence in second-year RB Derrius Guice, who is set to return from both a major knee injury and a minor hamstring injury.

“He has to see the doctors here, but we expect that,” Gruden said.

While the injury bug has riddled the Redskins’ success over the past handful of years, it has relatively stayed away so far this offseason. Of course, the season is just about to begin, so make sure to knock on some wood.
