Derrick Rose expected to join NBA All-Star Weekend skills competition

Derrick Rose is coming home. At least for a weekend.

The Athletic reported that Rose intends to participate in the NBA All-Star Weekend skills competition.

Pistons guard Derrick Rose plans to return to Chicago for NBA All-Star Weekend in February, accepting invitation to the Skills Competition Saturday night, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Rose, a Chicago native who currently plays for the Pistons, played seven seasons for the Bulls, willing Rookie of the Year and MVP during his time at the United Center.

Rose missed the 2012-13 season with an ACL injury, has been plagued with health issues throughout his career.

He is averaging 17.3 points this season in Detroit.
