Derrick Henry shows respect for Chubb and Hunt: ‘those guys are ballers’

Game respects game.

Tennessee running back Derrick Henry is poised to win his second straight rushing title. But he looks at the dynamic Browns tandem of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt — each on track for 1,000-yard rushing seasons — and likes what he sees, too.

Henry won the NFL’s rushing title last year with a late-season surge that overtook Chubb. He’s well on his way to the 2020 title; Henry’s 1,257 rushing yards through Week 12 lead Minnesota’s Dalvin Cook by almost 150 yards. But the Browns duo tops Henry. Chubb ranks sixth with 719 while Hunt sits ninth at 706 yards on the ground, giving the Browns 1-2 punch over 1,400 yards.

In his press conference this week, Henry was asked right off the bat about Cleveland’s dynamic duo.

“Chubb, he averages like six yards a carry,” Henry said with a smile. “Got like 400 yards since he’s been back (the last three games).”

He then turned his attention to Hunt.

“Kareem, he’s a great back. Good out of the backfield receiving. One of the best duos in the game if not the best. Those guys are ballers.”

Expect to see a healthy dose of Chubb and Hunt on Sunday in Nashville. Expect to see a lot of Henry, too. It should be a fun matchup of the two best running attacks in the NFL.
