Derrick Brown to replace Rams DT Aaron Donald in 2024 Pro Bowl Games

Derrick Brown belongs with the stars after all.

As announced by the NFL on Friday, the Carolina Panthers defensive tackle has officially been named to the 2024 Pro Bowl Games. He will replace Los Angeles Rams standout Aaron Donald, who will be unable to participate due to injury.

Brown was initially designated as a first alternate—behind Donald, New York’s Dexter Lawrence and San Francisco’s Javon Hargrave. He was placed on standby alongside Brian Burns, a second alternate at outside linebacker, as well as Johnny Hekker and JJ Jansen, third alternates at punter and long snapper.

Not only did 2023 result in a career campaign for Brown, but it also resulted in an historic one for the position. The fourth-year wrecking ball recorded 103 tackles, a new single-season record for a defensive lineman.

Along with those 103 takedowns, Brown also led all defensive linemen in stops (50) and in run stop win rate (47 percent).

The Pro Bowl Games, which will be held in Orlando, Fla., begin on Thursday, Feb. 1.
