Dermot O'Leary makes brilliant suggestion about Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United translator

Laurel and Hardy, French and Saunders, the two Ronnies.

But the world of comedy is no match for Leeds United's own superb double act - manager Marcelo Bielsa and his much-talked-about translator, Andres Clavijo.

Not a single press conference goes by without Bielsa's trusty right-hand man in tow.

In some ways, as the world-renowned Argentine continues to earn glowing praise for his unique managerial style, the man who projects his massage to the Leeds fans has become the star of the show in West Yorkshire.

That's certainly what TV presenter Dermot O'Leary thinks, as the X-Factor host discussed a range of Leeds subjects during his cameo appearance on the club's official podcast.

Marcelo Bielsa on the pride he has for Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford

On what has made Arsenal supporter O'Leary keep such a keen eye on events at Elland Road, he said: "I think there is something mesmeric about Bielsa.

"There is also something equally mesmeric about his translator. In my Arsenal WhatsApp group, we are obsessed with this translator, you have got to get him on the podcast.

"You expect a translator to be quite storable and down the middle. But what I love about Bielsa's translator is that he looks like he's got a bit about him, doesn't he?

"When he says stuff, you think he's the manager as well. Bielsa can never leave now, because I don't want that guy to be out of work. I just love him."

One of the show's presenters, Matt Lewis, added: "They are just a perfect double act, aren't they? With a straight man and the funny man."

O'Leary joined the LUFC panel - Lewis, Emma Jones and former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford - after the TV host was mistakenly identified on social media as ex-Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher.

However, fellow podcast regular and current player Patrick Bamford was a notable absentee as he awaits news of his first England call-up.
