Dermot O'Leary admitted that he and Alison Hammond were 'surprised to be back' on This Morning again on Wednesday.
The duo hosted the show on Tuesday 4 January as it returned from the festive break, but it's unsure why Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield aren't hosting it.
As Wednesday's show opened at 10am, Dermot and Alison were seen dancing as Eminem's track Without Me was being blasted out in the studio.
"Yes we are back!" Alison told viewers as Dermot added: "I mean it's a day late! We were here yesterday, why didn't they play this yesterday?"
"I know, I know!" Alison replied as Dermot then asked: "Are they surprised we're back?"
"Everyone's surprised!" Alison then said as Dermot admitted: "You're no more surprised than we are to be back!"
Viewers were also baffled as to why Holly and Phillip weren't back on the This Morning sofa and took to Twitter to comment.
One social media user posted: "Are holly and Phil still off? #ThisMorning I had less time off after an operation."
Another asked: "Are Holly & Phil ever coming back to #ThisMorning or they have holidays forever!!!"
Someone else joked: "Holly and Phil still not on this morning yeeeesssssss there is a God #ThisMorning."
Holly, 40, and Phillip, 59, will be hosting the new series of Dancing on Ice when it begins later this month.
The ITV show normally airs on Sunday evenings, so we can estimate that the very first episode will possibly be on television on Sunday 9th January or Sunday 16th January 2022.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
