Dermot Kennedy makes young fan's 'dream come true' with meeting in Dublin

A young Dermot Kennedy fan was left with star-struck after meeting his hero in Dublin city centre today.

The Rathcoole native is back on home soil to promote his new album ‘Sonder’. Earlier today, he was signing records in Golden Discs in St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre when he met young Evan Brett and his family from Monasterevin in Co Kildare.

Speaking to Dublin Live, Evan's mum Lisa said that they were "star-struck" after meeting the talented singer, who was also happy to sign autographs and pose for pics with Evan, Lisa, his older brother Eddie and Lisa's sister Zoey.

Lisa said: "We feel very star-struck, it was a surreal moment meeting him. I came for my two boys because they're massive fans, Evan more so than Eddie.

"He's an amazing fan, so for him to have his dream come true that's what I came for really."

Lisa praised the Rathcoole singer who was meeting fans who had travelled from all over the country to see him.

She said: "He didn't say much, he just said thank you for coming. He's very shy, a very sombre kind of person.

"We came from Monasterevin in Co Kildare, we were up at 6am and got the train at 7:10am to be here. We're buzzing." Lisa added that they are now looking forward to seeing their hero give a very special busking performance on Grafton Street later this evening.

There is also a pop-up merch shop in Bewley's Café running from 12pm to 7.30pm.
