Dermot Kennedy announces two huge Irish gigs next month in aid of charity

Dermot Kennedy has announced two nights at Dublin’s 3Arena next month in aid of charity.

The two shows, called ‘You won’t go lonely’, are set to take place on December 13th and 14th, with all profits going to Pieta and Focus Ireland.

Announcing the gigs, the Irish singer said: "I’m so grateful to be playing two shows in Dublin this December in aid of Pieta and Focus Ireland, two incredible charities.

“Suicide and homelessness are two issues that are sadly so prevalent in Ireland today."

The 29-year-old went on: “There are so many people that badly need our help, especially at this time of year.

“Please think of them and let’s come together and raise as much money as we can for these extremely important causes."

On the meaning behind his choice of charities, the Giants hitmaker admitted it was tough to choose between so many worthy causes in the country.

“I guess when you get the opportunity to do something like this, you try to see who would be most vulnerable this time of year,” he said.

“And it is always a hard choice because there are so many worthy charities and so many people doing great work but just the work they do really strikes a chord with me and yeah I mean I want to raise a mad amount of money for them,” he told Jennifer Zamparelli on RTE 2fm.

General tickets for the show will go on sale Friday 19th November at 9am from Ticketmaster.ie.
