Dermot Bannon gives sneak peak of first home on new Room To Improve series

Dermot Bannon has dropped a bombshell ahead of the return of the new series of Room To Imrpove.

The nation's favourite architect and the show will return to RTE this Sunday.

And the hype is well and truly building as Bannon teased viewers by revealing a "special guest" will appear on the first episode.

He uploaded a picture on Instagram outside a home in Kildare, saying: "This time next week. Sneak Peak. Room To Improve on RTE One. The first episode will feature a special guest."

Last week, Dermot revealed that he and his family have been living in rented accommodation while their new home is being extensively renovated in Drumcondra, Dublin.

He admits he’s to blame for the slow progress. He said: “We should have finished it by now.

“I’ve messed up everything. I’ve changed the specification which has added a huge amount of time. Everything is going bananas.”

The self confessed workaholic said he does get stressed but revels in hard graft.

He told RTE Guide: “Oh yes I have sleepless nights but I believe you don’t get anything worthwhile out of life unless you put the work in.

“So the struggle is important, whether that is the TV Show you are making or the home you are building or even family life and marriage.

“Life has its ups and downs but you learn to cope.”

Room to Improve returns to RTE One this Sunday.
