Derek McInnes urges Graeme Shinnie to provide 'clarity' over Aberdeen future

Derek McInnes admits he'd like some clarity from Graeme Shinnie as the Aberdeen skipper continues to mull over his next move.

The Dons boss insists he hasn't been kept out of the loop by the midfielder and that they're in constant contact.

Shinnie 's Pittodrie deal expires at the end of the season and he's yet to commit his future to the club amid interest from England.

And McInnes admits he'd hoped the matter would be cleared up by now.

He told the Evening Express : "Graeme and I speak every other day so I know exactly where he is with this.

“There is hope, of course there is, and we will see.

“I would have liked an answer yesterday, I would have liked an answer in January. We are still in the position where Graeme knows what we can do for him.

“I know how much he loves the club.

“I would like a bit more clarity on it but we speak every day about certain things and I know exactly where he is.

“And I am here to support Graeme make any of his decisions.”
