Derek McInnes comes out swinging as Aberdeen boss roars 'I love this club more than any other supporter out there'

Hyped-up Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes reckons his passion for the club is such that he loves it "more than any other supporter out there".

The Dons gaffer is under pressure after slipping to fourth place in the league during a tough spell that has seen his men pick up only one win in the last seven matches.

With key attackers Scott Wright leaving for Rangers and Ryan Hedges now out for the season with injury, it feels like fate is conspiring against the former St Johnstone boss.

Today's game against Hibs is crucial with Jack Ross' side their closest challengers to be the Scottish Premiership's third force, although Livingston's incredible run has also put them in contention.

And ahead of the match, McInnes was keen to stress his deep-seated passion for the club despite being an outsider when he arrived seven years ago.

He told the BBC: "You sign up to be a manager and you just deal with what is ahead of you.

"There has been pressure on me since day one.

"And dealing with pressure is something that every Aberdeen manager has to contend with.

"I have loved my time here. I believe in this club. I wasn't born an Aberdeen fan, I wasn't brought up an Aberdeen fan but I love this club more than any other supporter out there.

"This is so important to me to finish third this season.

"And I hope my team go and show what they are capable of. We are not a bad side."
