Derek McInnes has bolstered his Rangers coaching staff with the addition of set-piece coach Simon Ireland.
The Ibrox club have brought in the set-play specialist after Scott Fry left his post to join Birmingham City.
As reported by The Rangers Review, Ireland was identified as the candidate to replace Fry in the post at Ibrox. He will be on the bench for the friendly against St-Etienne tonight.
Rangers confirmed in a post on X: "Simon Ireland has today joined our men's first-team as Set Piece Coach.
"He begins work immediately and will be on the bench for this evening's Ibrox friendly with St-Etienne."
Ireland is now the fifth new coach at Rangers following McInnes' appointment as manager this summer.
Alan Archibald and Paul Sheerin joined McInnes in moving to Rangers from Hearts, with Craig Clark added to the staff after leaving Kilmarnock.
Allan McGregor was appointed as goalkeeper coach earlier this month.
Ireland's move to Rangers comes after he left a role at AFC Barrow at the end of last season. He was previously set-piece coach at Huddersfield Town and also spent time with Nottingham Forest and Brighton.
