Derek McGrath is to meet with Laois county board officials in the coming days with a view to joining the county’s minor hurling management team.
However, a Laois spokesperson was at pains to stress that nothing has been agreed with the former Waterford manager as yet amid reports suggesting that his appointment as the team’s coach was a done deal.
Liam Dunne of Clough-Ballacolla has been touted to take over as manager of the minor team with Enda Lyons moving up to the under-20 job though what role, if any, McGrath will take on with the minors will become clearer after he sits down with the Laois officers.
Last week, McGrath ruled out the prospect of taking up the vacant Waterford senior manager’s role just a year after he had left the job himself.
