Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker share burgers backstage after gruelling rematch

Derek Chisora shared a burger in the dressing room with heavyweight rival Joseph Parker after their epic rematch.

The British star was dropped three times in a brutal war but was able to rise to his feet and rally to make it to the final bell in a brave display.

Chisora was caught with some clubbing blows as the pair defied pre-fight expectations of another dull and boring contest.

But this did not stop the beaten man continuing his his post-fight tradition as he shared a burger with his counterpart after the final bell.

The pair discussed the bout before going their separate ways after the classic in Manchester.

Chisora has been encouraged to retire by several in the sport after his 12th career defeat left him frozen out of the world level scene.

His opponent saluted him for his warrior attitude but has admitted he would like to now see his rival hang up his gloves.

“Derek always comes for war, he was one tough guy and never stopped coming forward until the end," Parker said after the fight.

"I felt a lot stronger. It was important to start strong and not be negative from the beginning. You can see there are improvements to be made. The crowd went mental when he walked out. They just want to support him.

"Personally I'd like to see him walk away. He has given boxing everything, but that's his decision."

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has conceded Chisora will make his decision soon but is likely to return.

But he could be difficult to match despite his popularity, potentially being forced to make a return to the domestic scene.

Chisora is still keen to make further tilts at world level and is eyeing two potential trilogy bouts with Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury.

He has issued a defiant statement after his latest loss promising to return next summer.

Chisora tweeted : "F*** retirement. I’ll be back in the summer b****."

The 37-year-old later added: "But it's not happening yet (retirement), I did box with a broken finger but I don't care it is not happening yet."
