Derek Carr now wants Adidas to give Nathan Peterman a shoe deal

The Oakland Raiders are clearly trying to make Nathan Peterman happen.

Just two days after head coach Jon Gruden said without irony that Nathan Peterman was “growing” on him, his fellow quarterback Derek Carr is going to bat for Peterman with Adidas.

Well, sort of.

A clip from the upcoming episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks showed Carr admiring the historically bad NFL quarterback’s Adidas cleats. Because Carr is a starting NFL quarterback who has experienced relative success in his pro career, he has a company like Nike paying him to wear their cleats.

Peterman, on the other hand, does not have that deal with Adidas. Carr tried to change that.

Carr said:

“It’s Nate freaking Peterman. Give my man a shoe deal!”

That would be a bold marketing strategy for Adidas to sponsor the quarterback who threw 12 interceptions and three touchdowns in eight games, but maybe that’s what this upcoming Yeezy launch is all about.

The Peter Man Yeezy 1s. Gruden would buy those.
