Derek Brunson vs. Darren Till headlines UFC Fight Night on Aug. 14

Derek Brunson and Darren Till have been going at it online for weeks, and now they’ll have the chance to go at it in the octagon.

Brunson (22-7 MMA, 13-5 UFC) and Till (18-3-1 MMA, 6-3-1 UFC) have agreed to a five-round middleweight headliner at UFC Fight Night on Aug. 14. The event does not have an announced location or venue at this time.

MMA Junkie verified the matchup with a person close to the situation following an initial report from UFC broadcast partner ESPN on Wednesday. The person requested anonymity.

Brunson, No. 5 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie middleweight rankings, is riding a four-fight winning streak at 185 pounds, and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Kevin Holland at UFC on ESPN 21 in March.

No. 10-ranked Till will attempt to make a comeback after suffering a broken collarbone in training that forced him to withdraw from a scheduled main event with Marvin Vettori in April. He’s 1-1 since moving up to 185 pounds.

Till has yet to receive medical clearance for his collarbone injury, but if his recovery goes as expected, the matchup will be finalized.

The main event is the first reported booking for UFC Fight Night on Aug. 14.
