Derek Acorah declared 'life is too short' hours before death as haunting last appearance revealed

Derek Acorah left haunting messages and revealed he had been suffering from flu just hours before he died on Friday.

The spiritual medium also sent fans and followers warm wishes for the festive season at Christmas - looking in good spirits just days before he suddenly passed away at the age of 69.

Taking to social media channels at the end of the week, Derek wrote: “It’s Friday! Life is too short to start your day with broken pieces of yesterday, it will definitely destroyed your wonderful today and ruin your great tomorrow.”

He shared the post on Instagram alongside a string of positive and inspirational hashtags including “Good morning”. “end of the week” and “weekend coming”.

Sadly, the weekend did not come for Derek as after enduring a “brief illness”.

Derek himself had hinted he was not well when he left a Facebook post for fans on New Year’s Day - explaining he had been run down with flu.

“Good morning everybody and I hope you’ve all had a spectacular celebration bringing in the new year and the new decade,” he wrote.

“I spent the time quietly at home with Gwen as we’ve both had the awful flu bug which has brought us down so low, hence the reason for my lack of live presence on facebook,” he revealed.

“I hope to be back within the next couple of days when I will be giving messages from spirit for the new year,” he added.

Just days earlier, a fit and healthy Derek had wished fans a Merry Christmas as he posed in front of his Christmas tree at home to give an inspiring and upbeat message.

“Well, Merry Christmas! It’s Christmas Eve. This is a message to all my lovely friends on Instagram,” he began, as he addressed the video.

“Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year. I hope a lot of your wishes come true for you, that you really, really want. And also, your loved ones, paying visits around you,” he declared.

“Have a great time,” he concluded, flashing a bright and warm smile.

Fans have been left devastated by Derek’s sudden death - with many leaving tributes and messages on his social media posts.

“Rip Derek you will be missed,” one fan wrote on his Instagram video post.
