Krystian Bielik could be on his way to Derby County in a deal worth in excess of £10million.
The Poland international spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic and despite uncertainty over Arsenal's defensive depth the 21-year-old is set to leave the Emirates Stadium for Pride Park on a permanent deal.
According to Derbyshire Live , a deal has not yet been fully agreed but is close, and fans of the Gunners are liking what they are reading over the details of the potential sale.
In recent years, supporters have watched on as the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool have sold unwanted squad players for huge sums.
The Reds in particular have caused all sorts of consternation among Arsenal followers as they set about flogging Danny Ings for £18million and Dominic Solanke for £19million to Southampton and Bournemouth, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Gunners saw the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere leave for nothing, while players that were sold such as Henri Lansbury and Joel Campbell brought in a relative pittance compared.
It is hoped by fans that Bielik's departure for £10million is a sign of things to come during the Raul Sanllehi regime, with former Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis blamed for the disappointing sales in years gone by.
Bielik made 34 appearances for Charlton last season as they won promotion to the Championship after winning the League One promotion play-off final against Sunderland.
A versatile player who can slot in at centre-back or in defensive midfield, he previously spent time on loan at Birmingham City and Walsall after joining the Gunners from Legia Warsaw in 2015.
