Derby move for Sheffield Wednesday target as shock Brentford bid rejected - Championship rumours

Bristol City and their Championship rivals are facing a busy few days ahead of them with the domestic transfer window deadline and the return of league football this weekend.

Table-topping City are back in action on Saturday against Barnsley at Oakwell, with Dean Holden's Robins looking to make it five wins from five in the second tier so far this season.

However, before the action resumes, there is some off-the-field speculation to take care of.

With the domestic-only transfer window open until Friday, there could be more incomings and outgoings to and from Championship clubs.

Here are the latest transfer rumours from the second-tier.

The 30-year-old is now in the final year of his contract at Wednesday, but the club are not willing to let him leave.

Earlier this year, Bannan gave an interview to Scottish media claiming that the Bees’ style of play would be “perfect” for him.

Now, Thomas Frank’s side have come in with an offer for the Scotland midfielder, but the offer has been quickly rejected.

Derby look to hijack Owls’ Zohore move

The Rams are now preparing a bid for the 26-year-old forward after Charlie Austin snubbed a move back down to the Championship.

Zohore’s representatives are now holding talks with Derby over a move to Pride Park, the report states.

The Danish forward has three years of his contract left at The Hawthorns, but he has failed to make a matchday squad this season following their promotion to the Premier League.

Fulham close to signing Kongolo

Fulham are closing in on signing Huddersfield Town defender Terence Kongolo for just £3m, according to the Mai l.

Sheffield United were looking at signing the Terriers centre-back but were put off due to fitness concerns.

Talks for the signing are now underway, and the Cottagers are set to sign him for a bargain price of just £3m.

Huddersfield signed the Dutch defender for £17.5m just two years ago, but could look to cash-in on him now.
