An online mortgage advice firm based in Derby which began in a bedroom is celebrating after helping its 100,000th customer.
Online Mortgage Advisor was founded six years ago by Pete Mugleston and David Bird, who decided to start the business after hearing numerous stories about people who were struggling to obtain a mortgage.
Today, the firm is based in offices at the Prime Business Centre, in Raynesway, where it employs more than 20 full-time - and has a network of more than 300 online accredited specialist mortgage brokers.
The company said it aims to help people across the UK “find the best mortgage with the right advice”.
It provides advice to a range of clients, from those with bad credit ratings and first-time buyers, through to self-employed and commercial customers.
Since it started in 2013, the business has generated £832 million worth of mortgage offers.
The company has also further expanded by launching Online Money Advisor, which helps customers get financial advice for pensions, insurance and more through a network of specialist financial advisors.
To celebrate its latest landmark, Online Mortgage Advisor gave its 100,000th customer an ultimate smart home bundle worth £1,000, for their new home.
Mr Mugleston said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have helped 100,000 customers find the right mortgage advice but this is just the start of our journey.
“We want to make the right advice advice accessible to anyone and everyone, from bad credit through to commercial lending. Our goal is to help as many people as we can.”
