Derby County 'seriously looking into' pitch altercation at Nottingham Forest

Derby County are “seriously looking into” the incident which took place after the Carabao Cup clash with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

There was an altercation on the City Ground pitch after the Reds’ 3-0 win over their local rivals in the second round tie.

It happened while the Rams’ substitutes, including the likes of Richard Keogh, Tom Lawrence and Max Bird, were warming down and members of the Forest ground staff were tending to the playing surface.

The two managers, Forest’s Sabri Lamouchi and his opposite number, Phillip Cocu, were giving post-match interviews to the media pitchside at the time.

Cocu says an investigation is ongoing, and he has spoken to Keogh and other members of staff about what happened.

“It’s always negative if an incident happens on the pitch, especially after the game,” he said in his press conference this afternoon.

“At the moment, both clubs are investigating what happened, so I can’t say too much.

“But we are seriously looking into it.

“I have spoken to Richard (Keogh), as well as other members of the club, and it is still ongoing.

“There will be an announcement if something happens.”

The Reds won the match courtesy of goals from Albert Adomah, Joe Lolley and Joao Carvalho.
