Derby County's transfer stance on Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts

Derby County are not pursuing a deal for Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts.

The versatile Whites attacker has been linked with a move away from Elland Road after the arrival of Rodrigo Moreno in a club-record deal on Saturday.

Roberts played an important role for Leeds last season in support of Patrick Bamford, especially whilst Pablo Hernandez was injured.

The Welshman's ability to play as a number nine or in a withdrawn attacking midfield role makes him a favourite of Marcelo Bielsa, who highly values tactical flexibility.

A report in The Times claimed Derby are interested in signing Roberts, who scored four goals in 23 appearances last season as Leeds lifted the Championship title.

However, our sister title DerbyshireLive report that the Rams hold no interest in Roberts and are keen to add a new winger to their squad.

Kamil Jozwiak of Lech Poznan, Newcastle United's Jacob Murphy, Ronan Curtis of Portsmouth have all been linked with a move to Pride Park but it's not a role Roberts would suit and thus, he is not on their radar.

Leeds are still keen to add two more players to their squad before they head to Anfield on September 12.

Another new centre-back to compete with Robin Koch and Liam Cooper is on the list, with a €20million offer reportedly made for Dinamo Zagreb defender Josko Gvardiol.

Equally, negotiations are ongoing about acquiring an attacking midfielder who can operate on the wing, such as Udinese's Rodrigo de Paul.
