Derby County plotting move to sign Nottingham Forest 'target' – reports

Derby County and Middlesbrough are reportedly plotting a bid to sign Jack Clarke in January.

Clarke, who has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest, is currently on loan at Leeds United but is struggling for game time.

The Leeds Academy product impressed last season as the Whites reached the play-off semi-final, and secured a £10m summer move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs loaned Clarke straight back to Elland Road to continue his development – but his progress has been halted somewhat.

Clarke has made just three appearances this season for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, with only one of those coming in the Championship.

Reports have claimed Spurs will look to loan Clarke elsewhere in January to see him get more action, with the Reds having previously been named as a possible destination.

But Football Insider claim Derby and Boro are now keen on making a move.

The report adds that sources at both clubs have said they are keen to take advantage of his potential availability and get a loan deal for the second half of the season.

Fulham are another Championship side reportedly keen.
