Derby County enter race to sign striker linked with Nottingham Forest and Leeds United - reports

Reported Nottingham Forest transfer target Billy Sharp appears to be attracting interest from their arch rivals.

According to The Sun, Derby County are keen to add the experienced frontman to their squad during this month’s transfer window.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Sabri Lamouchi 's side had made an 'official approach' for the Sheffield United striker who could complete a move away from Bramall Lane this month.

But Sharp has reportedly already turned down a move away from South Yorkshire with the former City Ground striker keen to stay with the Blades and regain his place in the side.

Leeds United have also been credited with an interest in the striker in recent days.

Sharpe spent the 2012/13 season on loan at the City Ground, where he bagged 11 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions.

Sharp has made 13 appearances for Chris Wilder’s side since their promotion to the Premier League, and scored in the first game as they drew 1-1 away at Bournemouth.

But that strike remains Sharp’s only goal so far this season, and he has only been included in the starting 11 on two occasions in all competitions.

United currently have a number of striker options, with summer signings Lys Mousset, Oliver McBurnie and Callum Robinson ahead of Sharp in the pecking order at Bramall Lane.

Forest are thought to be keen to bring in a striker to lighten the load on Lewis Grabban as they continue their Championship promotion chase.
