Derby County chase late deadline day move for Bristol City's former Nottingham Forest attacker - report

Derby County are reportedly ready to launch a late move for Jamie Paterson with time running out on deadline day.

Football Insider report that Derby are seeking attacking options and, as well the Robins attacker, they are also interested in Scott Sinclair from Celtic.

Paterson's game time at the Robins appears a little more limited following the arrivals of Sammie Szmodics and Kasey Palmer this summer, and he started Sunday's game against Leeds United on the bench.

He has spent three years at the Robins, making 113 appearances, scoring 16 times and creating 17 assists.

The Robins may be willing to let Paterson go following 11 summer signings so far this window.

However, Derby's move for Paterson would cause a stir in the East Midlands due to his past connections to the City Ground.

Paterson made 55 appearances for Nottingham Forest in a three-year spell and has kept some close links to the club.
