In a pivotal final weekend for the lower end of the Championship table, we saw Derby County retain the final place in the second tier of English football.
For fans who voted in our relegation battle survey, this was always going to be the case.
Forty seven per cent of voters believed that Derby County would retain their place in the Championship, sending Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham and Wycombe Wanderers down into League One.
However, most voters thought Derby would make life difficult for themselves, with 51% of fans voting for Sheffield Wednesday to beat Derby in their final match of the season.
Twenty one per cent voted correctly for a draw, with the big clash at Pride Park finishing 3-3.
Derby’s luck was in though, as Rotherham drew 1-1 with Cardiff City, giving them enough leverage over the other teams to retain their Championship spot.
Now, all eyes turn to the Championship play-offs, as Swansea face Barnsley and Bournemouth face Brentford in the semi-finals starting on May 17.
With Norwich already confirmed as returning to the Premier League, it is all to play for in the play-off spots.
