'Deranged Donald Trump doesn't care what damage he does - even if people die'

Dethroned and deranged, Donald Trump stood before me displaying more madness than King George.

As loyal, mask-free subjects cheered his every word, the pitiful President gave his swansong.

“I won, I won,” he cried, again repeating baseless and false claims that November’s election was “stolen” from him.

“We will never give up. We will never concede,” he cried.

As he spoke, Congress began to certify Joe Biden’s win while many Republicans, once loyal to the reality TV star, got their own reality check as they fought for their political lives.

Like rats on a sinking ship, one by one they deserted Trump with only the sickest of sycophants still rejecting the will of the American people.

As Trump’s spotlight-grabbing madness worsens, some within the powerless party began a belated re-acquaintance with sanity to try to salvage a shred of respect. Too little, too late.

The damage they and Trump have done to the US is their legacy. The President does not care what damage he has done.

Even if it makes people suffer and die, which it has, or take up arms against make-believe enemies, he kept it up enough to fill his pockets with their cash.

On January 20, a new and necessary chapter will begin when Biden is sworn in.
