Deranged bevy of 'wild and aggressive swans' attacking people and snatching their items on Dublin bridge

An unhinged group of aggressive swans have taken over a Dublin bridge and started a war with locals over the patch of turf.

The bevy of birds have been nabbing the bevvies of others in the area, stealing coffees, drinks and sandwiches from the grasp of Dubliners crossing the Cross Guns Bridge near Phibsborough.

One resident took to a local Facebook group to complain about the attacks joking that the army would have to be notified and Air Force Swan deployed to stop the attackers.

She said: "At least 14 wild swans attacking people up by Cross Guns bridge.

"They are swooping very aggressively and stealing flat whites and coffees out of people's hands."

And of course, quick-witted Dubs were on hand to offer their best Swanemisms and jibes.

One person said: "I'm from Ringsend originally and the swans on the canal there always preferred espressos.

Another said: "There's nothing worse than hipster swans" while a third simply joked "some neck on them".
