BRIEF: Deputy shoots man in Paramount; 2nd suspect sought

Oct. 27--A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy shot a person Monday near train tracks in Paramount, authorities said.

The officer-involved shooting occurred about 2:40 p.m. near Downey Avenue south of Rosecrans Avenue, Sgt. Pauline Panis said.

Investigators are looking for a second possible suspect, said Nicole Nishida, spokeswoman for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. No deputies were injured.

Authorities did not specify what the encounter with the suspects pertained to.

The condition of the person who was shot was not immediately available.
