Deputy leader of Neath Port Talbot Council Anthony Taylor resigns

The deputy leader of Neath Port Talbot Council has resigned.

Anthony Taylor who was appointed deputy leader of the local authority in May 2017 has resigned for personal and health reasons, a council spokesman said.

Cllr Taylor was the cabinet member for transformation.

He will continue to be a councillor, representing the Taibach ward alongside his wife, Cllr Rachel Taylor.

A council spokesman said:  “We confirm that Councillor Anthony Taylor has tendered his resignation as deputy leader of the council on personal and health grounds.

“Councillor Taylor will remain as the ward member for Taibach.

“An election for his successor as deputy leader will be held by the Labour group in the New Year.”
