The Department of Health has announced that fully vaccinated arrivals to Northern Ireland from France must continue to quarantine.
The Department has said that from 5pm today (Monday, July 19), that anyone arriving from the country must isolate at home or at other accomodation for 10 days, even if they have had both doses of the vaccine.
They will also be required to take two coronavirus tests during their quarantine period.
Also from today, those traveling to Northern Ireland from an Amber list country will not have to isolate if they have been vaccinated.
Today's rule changes will bring NI in line with the rest of the UK.
A Department of Health spokesperson said: "From 5pm today, anyone arriving from France into Northern Ireland must continue to quarantine for 10 days at home or in other accommodation, even if they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
"From today, anyone arriving from amber countries who have been fully UK vaccinated, will no longer have to quarantine, although they will still need to comply with necessary testing requirements. However, this will not apply to France following the persistent presence of cases in France of the Beta variant, which was first identified in South Africa.
"Anyone who has been in France in the last 10 days will need to quarantine on arrival to Northern Ireland in their own accommodation and will need a Day two and Day eight test, regardless of their vaccination status. This includes any fully UK vaccinated individual who transits through France from either a green or another amber country to reach Northern Ireland.
"This move today brings Northern Ireland in line with the rest of the UK.
