The lawyer for departing Broncos player Anthony Milford, who is accused of assaulting three people in Brisbane's nightclub precinct last month, says he will be fighting some of the charges against him.

Police allege the 27-year-old was arguing with a woman who was known to him in the early hours of September 20 outside a nightclub in Fortitude Valley, when several bystanders tried to intervene.

It is alleged he attacked two women and a man and was charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is also facing one count of wilful damage.

In a brief appearance in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning, his lawyer made a variation to his bail conditions, including that he not contact any of the complainants.

The matter was adjourned until next month.

Milford to contest allegations

Outside court Mr Milford's lawyer David Garratt told reporters he would be contesting some of the allegations.

"On the current charges before the court on the evidence I have seen he definitely will be defending some of the charges," he said.

Milford finished playing with the Brisbane team this season and is due to join the South Sydney Rabbitohs next year.

At the time of his arrest, the Rabbitohs would not comment on the charges, but the NRL Integrity Unit said it was conducting its own investigation.
