Deontay Wilder to defend WBC heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz

Deontay Wilder will defend his WBC heavyweight title in a rematch against Luis Ortiz in November, it has been announced.

Wilder has held the title since January 2015 and drew with Tyson Fury last December, with a highly-anticipated rematch on the cards.

But the Bronze Bomber (41-0-1) will first take on Cuban Ortiz at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in November.

Should he beat the Cuban again, that will pave the way for another showdown against Fury which the Gypsy King has said will take place on February 22.

Fury was taken to 12 rounds in his most recent fight, prevailing on a unanimous decision against Sweden's Otto Wallin in Nevada.

Anthony Joshua has revealed he would rather fight Tyson Fury than Wilder .

The Brit is currently preparing for his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr having lost his world titles to the chubby underdog in June.

But should he avenge his first professional defeat, Joshua will target a domestic showdown with fellow former world champion Fury.

Asked by Sky Sports what his ideal fight would be, he said: "I always change it, but right now, I'd say Fury at Wembley. The best of Britain. It is a massive fight.

"Yes, 100 per cent [we will fight]. That's like asking if a certain football team will play another football team; of course.

"We're in the same division, in the same era. We have to fight each other.

"We're all big draws in the heavyweight division so it would be massive.

"I'd love to fight Wilder, I'd love to fight Fury. I'm fighting Ruiz Jr next. The list goes on - there's so many out there that I'd love to compete with."
