Deontay Wilder's camp deny Tyson Fury fight is off and set December date for trilogy bout

Deontay Wilder's team have denied that a trilogy fight with Tyson Fury is no longer on the cards insisting they will fight at the end of the year.

Reports have circulated that the Bronze Bomber no longer has a contractual right to a third fight with the Gypsy King.

Fury stopped Wilder in Las Vegas back in February which saw the American lose the WBC belt.

A third fight is yet to be set in stone with a date and a venue yet to be decided, but Wilder's co-manager Shelly Finkel has denied that an all-British bout is next up for Fury.

"They are wrong, we will fight in December," he told Sky Sports.

There is a huge demand to see Anthony Joshua and Fury finally square off in the ring.

The pair have long exchanged words with the Gypsy King now the only leading unbeaten heavyweight.

Promoter Eddie Hearn recently said he was ready to send out a contract provided the two Brits won their next bouts.

Fury's trilogy contest was next on his agenda while Joshua was poised to take on Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev.

"Fury against Joshua is a big ambition of everybody involved, to be honest," Hearn said.

"We want to talk about it, but we also want to take care of business, which is Kubrat Pulev for AJ, and Deontay Wilder for Tyson Fury.

"I'm very sure you're going to see two versions of that fight in 2021. I think we're on the verge now of papering that deal with Bob Arum. We haven't done it yet, but all the conversations are positive.

"We have a lot on our plates with the pandemic, making sure we keep boxing alive and trying to deliver those fights for AJ and Fury, but I think 2021, I'm very sure you'll see those two fights."
