Deontay Wilder refuses to discuss fight with "coward" Anthony Joshua

Deontay Wilder has labelled Anthony Joshua a "coward" and was not drawn into answering a question over whether he could take on the Brit during a conference call ahead of his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury.

The Bronze Bomber's rematch against The Gypsy King on February 22 is one of the most anticipated fights in history, and there is speculation that the winner could face Joshua, who beat Andy Ruiz Jr. earlier this year to reclaim his heavyweight world titles.

Joshua has repeatedly claimed he would prefer to take on Fury, and believes his British rival will beat Wilder in Las Vegas.

But when asked about AJ during his conference call, Wilder seemed less than impressed.

"I'm not worried about that coward," Wilder said. "That coward barely won his titles back, let alone stepping into the ring with the king. He's been out of the picture and ain't nobody talking about him no more.

"So there ain't no need to bring him up. Right here, right now. On Febuary 22, Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury. Other than that, nobody else is in existence at this point in time."

Wilder remains unbeaten following his controversial draw with Fury in 2018, and he appears confident going into the rematch.

"I’m the champion of the world, and I can’t be beat," he said. "As far as him saying what he’s going to do, and what he actually do, I think it’s going to be two different things. But that’s what makes this fight such an exciting fight.

"This fight means so much to me. At this point in time it’s just about me and Fury. All these other guys; we’ll still be here after this fight.

"I’ll still be here after this fight, and I’ll still be the king after this fight. Then we can go from there, but at this moment in time, it’s truly about me and Fury."
