Deontay Wilder boasts about previous Tyson Fury “knockout” ahead of trilogy fight

Deontay Wilder has boasted about his "knockout" he scored during the first fight against Tyson Fury.

The 'Bronze Bomber' is eyeing redemption in Las Vegas this weekend against his famous foe Fury who dismissed him at ease last time out.

And much has been made of Wilder's manner of defeat, with his insistence behind many external factors hampering his performance over the twelve rounds.

Wilder has now vowed to overturn the defeat, and is using his "knockout" of Fury to bolster the confidence and danger he brings into the showdown.

“Well you know I have already knocked Tyson Fury out once before,” Wilder told BT Sport Box Office.

“I am sure he replays that in his head over and over again, that is why he is so brave to say I am the most dangerous man in the world because I am and its true facts.

“My famous quote is them guys have to be perfect for ten rounds, I have to be perfect for two seconds and damn baby goodnight.

“And when you have devastating power you will always be the leader of the pack, everyone goes on about skills but it is a broken record, we have seen so many people with skills and they have lost.

“When you have power you are never out of a fight, but when it boils down to it it is the difference and it can get you out of many different things like people have seen in my career several times.”

Wilder is confident that he will be too much for Fury this time rounds, with calls claiming he is in the best shape of his career.

Will Wilder get his revenge against Fury? Let us know your prediction in the comments section below.

And he is prepared to take "revenge in blood" and is eyeing a trademark knockout to end the trilogy.

But his opponent believes he is "unstable" after his previous reasons for defeat, and has been forced to come out and deny claims he faked coronavirus to delay the inevitable clash.

“I don’t care what Deontay Wilder says,” Fury quipped. “Because, you know, if we wanna take this publicly, then we have medical records by doctors here in Las Vegas who tested me.

"So yeah, I don’t think you can fake COVID with the PCR test, when they stick a big thing up your nose. You’ve either got it or you haven’t. You know, there would be no reason for me to want COVID and get out of a Deontay Wilder fight. Why would I wanna chuck away 20, 30 million dollars to fight someone I’ve already knocked out quite comfortable? Why wouldn’t I wanna take that, like a lottery win for free?

“I’ve had COVID twice, two times, I had it once back in like 2020 and once a couple of months ago. The first time was a lot harder than the second time because I lost my sense of smell and taste, and I felt weak and I felt terrible.

"But, you know, with COVID you can’t fight because the commission won’t let you fight anyway, even if you wanted to.”

Fury has moved to put down Floyd Mayweather's plans to train Wilder again, predicting he will "smash" the American regardless.
