Deodorant ad takes stunning shot at Tampa Bay Bucs’ kicking game

Secret Deodorant, which is owned by Procter and Gamble, placed an ad in the Tampa Bay Times. It scorches the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their kicker Matt Gay.

The genesis of the ad, of course, is Secret is a big-time sponsor of the USWNT for which Carli Lloyd plays.

The ad agency must have been laying in wait with the idea and it came to fruition when TB kicker Matt Gay missed a 34-yard field goal in Sunday’s 32-31 loss to the New York Giants.

The 37-year-old Lloyd, of course, got major pub and a push from folks to kick in the NFL after she nailed a 55-yard field goal during Philadelphia Eagles training camp after the USWNT won the Women’s World Cup.

Gay, by the way, is 7-of-9 on field-goal attempts and 5-of-7 on PATS.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians already has two women on his extensive coaching staff.
