Add Denzel Valentine to the growing list of Bulls who are done for the season.
The Bulls announced Tuesday that the second-year guard will undergo an "arthroscopic debridement" on his left knee early Wednesday after an MRI exam to address swelling revealed the issue. Valentine is the only Bull to have played in all 77 games.
Valentine first experienced swelling after the March 24 road loss to the Pistons and didn't practice two days later after a team off day. He then surprisingly played in Houston on March 27 and in the three subsequent games, although he scored in single digits in all three.
For the season, Valentine averaged 10.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 27.2 minutes. He started 37 games and shot 38.6 percent from 3-point range, proving his worth as a rotational piece for the future.
Valentine, who joins Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, Antonio Blakeney and Paul Zipser as Bulls who are done for the season, had the same knee scoped during his senior season at Michigan State. He missed four games.
Valentine also underwent right knee surgery in 2009 to address a high school football injury. Questions about his athleticism plagued Valentine leading up to his draft day.
