Denny's Renfrew refuse to comment on concerns it's closed for good

The team behind Denny's in Renfrew, Scotland's first ever Denny's venue, has refused to address rumours the restaurant has permanently closed.

Talk of the diner shutting down started circulating last week after local residents noticed signs had been removed, although the tall, bright yellow totem sign remains at the Braille Crescent premises.

While other food venues have opened up in recent weeks, Denny's has remained closed since the introduction of the coronavirus lockdown in March.

And when asked about the rumours by Glasgow Live a spokesperson on behalf of Denny's simply responded: "We do not wish to comment at this time."

The Renfrew diner opened in December 2018, the second Denny's venue in the UK alongside another restaurant in Swansea, Wales.

The chain has more than 1,600 restaurants across the US, and the brand has been going for more than 60 years.
