Dennistoun brunch spot Scran to host latest Smokey Trotters Kitchen food pop-up

The team behind Smokey Trotters Kitchen has revealed the destination for the next of their iconic food pop-up events, with the news they will soon be travelling to the east end of Glasgow.

And for the second time, much-loved Dennistoun brunch spot Scran will host ever-popular street food chefs at the award-winning cafe on Alexandra Parade, in Glasgow's east end.

Smokey Trotters have gained a glowing reputation for their daring dishes, in particular their burgers, which they believe are the best in the city.

Robert Lorimor - or Big Smokey as he's perhaps more commonly known - of Smokey Trotters Kitchen, told Glasgow Live today what hungry Glaswegians can expect from their latest venture.

Arguably the best burgers in Glasgow (Smokey Trotters Kitchen)

He said: "We did a pop up there previously, and it sold out pretty quick. So we had a few people let down and also the people that came cannot wait for us to do another.

"It allows us to show we do Glasgow’s best burger, and lots more. Another five course ticket event with two sittings. Maybe end of February, beginning of March.

"I love Chris and the team [at Scran], slinging out the best brunch scran."

Meanwhile, after a series of successful pop-ups across Glasgow at the likes of The Dirty Duchess, Dockyard Social, Linen 1906 and The Record Factory, Robert admitted he and the team are looking for their very own spot in 2020.

"Would love to make a more permanent move in Dennistoun to be honest - Smokey’s looking for its own home this year.

"[We're] busy at The Dirty Duchess, at Dockyard Social, got an Edinburgh event coming up and also collaboration project on the go."

The only double award winner in Glasgow Live's Best Places Awards and TripAdvisor's top rated restaurant for the whole of Glasgow last year, Scran is undoubtedly one of the hottest food spots in the city. You can read our recent review of the Dennistoun brunch haunt HERE.

As soon as the dates for the pop-up are confirmed, you'll find out on Glasgow Live.
