Dennis Schroder posts double-double for Germany in FIBA World Cup win

Oklahoma City guard, Dennis Schroder, posted a double-double for Germany in their FIBA World Cup win Thursday over Jordan.

Germany picked up their first win of the tournament, 96-62, after opening with losses to France and the Dominican Republic. Schroder scored 10 points, shooting 66.7% from the field (4 of 6), including 2-2 from beyond the arc. He also had 11 assists and added a steal.

Maximilian Kleber scored a game-high 18 points.

Schroder had scored 23 and 20 points, respectively, coming into Thursday’s game, but Germany didn’t need those numbers from him against Jordan.

Germany had four players finish in double-digits. They held a 28-17 lead at the end of the first quarter, and a comfortable 12-point margin at the half. They outscored Jordan 30-13 in the final quarter to put the game away.

Schroder was named the TCL Player of the Game for his performance.

Through three games, Schroder is leading the team in scoring (17.7 points/game), assists (8.7) and overall efficiency (16.0).
