Denmark vs Finland to resume this evening after Christian Eriksen stabilised

The Danish FA have confirmed their game with Finland will continue following distressing scenes which saw Christian Eriksen collapse to the ground during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener vs Finland.

In the closing stages of the opening period, Eriksen appeared to collapse to the ground, with teammates, opponents and match officials gesturing for urgent medical attention.

The former Tottenham star was seen receiving CPR on the field of play as his Denmark colleagues formed a wall around him.

The match was subsequently postponed, with UEFA and the Danish FA confirming Eriksen is in hospital in a stable condition.

Following the incident, the Danish FA have released a statement which read: "Christian Eriksen is awake and his condition remains stable. He remains hospitalized at Rigshospitalet for further examination.

"The match against Finland will be completed tonight. This happens after the players have confirmed that Christian is okay. The match resumes at 8.30pm."

UEFA have subsequently posted on social media: "Following the request made by players of both teams, UEFA has agreed to restart the match between Denmark and Finland tonight at 20:30 CET (TBC).

"The last four minutes of the first half will be played, there will then be a 5-minute half-time break followed by the second half."
