Denmark announces aid package for drought-afflicted farmers

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Denmark on Friday announced a 380 million Danish crowns ($59 million) aid package for farmers following one of the driest summers on record.

Losses in the agricultural sector could reach almost 8 billion Danish crowns this year, according to research institute SEGES, part of the Danish Agriculture & Food Council lobby group.
