Denise Welch weighs in on Piers Morgan row and threatens to expose 'fake' GMB staff

Denise Welch has waded into the Piers Morgan drama after he made the shock decision to leave Good Morning Britain.

The Loose Women star, 62, threatened to expose 'fake' ITV staff who worked closely with Piers on the show, for publicly defending the presenter.

Earlier this week, 55-year-old Piers announced he was quitting the show after coming under fire for his comments about Meghan Markle's mental health.

Taking to her social media, Denise has suggested she has evidence to prove some of the people who are standing up for Piers are not being genuine.

In the now-deleted tweet from today, Denise wrote: "To those close colleagues defending Piers and saying what a great guy he is just remember... I have receipts!!."

However the Hollyoaks star removed her tweet after two minutes, telling the Daily Star she was in a rage at the time.

She told the publication: "I rage tweeted then thought better of it. Commenting no further."

It was only seen by 25 people in total as it picked up 20 likes and five retweets.

It comes after Piers told fans he was leaving the daytime show on Tuesday after racking up 41,000 complaints over his comments on Meghan.

He also had a spat with Alex Beresford on-air after he told Piers his comment was wrong.

Piers marched off the TV in front of the nation after they had a row.

Later that day, he shared a photo of a clock on Twitter just before ITV revealed he was quitting the show.

Reports state he was asked by bosses to apologise for his comment on Wednesday's show, but he is said to have refused.

It's also claimed Meghan contacted ITV to complain about Piers' outrage.
