Denise Welch turns down big money offers to appear on top BBC show she's 'too scared' to do

Denise Welch has revealed that she has multiple offers to do one of the BBC's most famous shows, admitting that she 'couldn't think of anything more terrifying' than being a contestant on it.

Having starred in the likes of Soldier Soldier,. Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, Denise is now best known for being a long-serving panellist on Loose Women. She is no stranger to TV competition shows though, having won Celebrity Big Brother back at the start of 2012, before going onto to compete alongside husband Lincoln Townley on ITV dance series Stepping Out.

However, the Geordie star has gone on the record to say she would never do BBC hit Celebrity MasterChef, having been asked to do the programme on a number of different occasions.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Denise said: I've been asked to do Celebrity MasterChef. They keep coming back and I keep saying 'not in a million years'. I've said no 84 times."

Elaborating on her reason for turning down the chance to be on MasterChef, she added: ""I can't think of anything more terrifying than me doing a cooking show.

"It's terrifying to do something that's out of your comfort zone. And the whole kitchen area is out of my comfort zone."

While viewers shouldn';t expect to see her in the TV kitchen anytime soon, Denise did taste success with Lincoln on another BBC show at the end of last year, when they triumphed in the final of Unbreakable, which saw numerous celebrity couples put through the mill to test the strength of their relationships.
