Denise Welch shocked her many Instagram followers this week when she posted a video of her enjoying a reunion with several of her former Coronation Street cast members.
Geordie actress Denise 's stint on the Wetherfield cobbles was initially intended to be a relatively short one but the now 63-year-old soon became the character the nation loved to hate after her on screen alias, Rovers barmaid Natalie Horrocks, became embroiled in one of the soap's most explosive storylines.
Natalie embarked on an affair with Corrie 's much loved mechanic Kevin Webster, with his wife Sally completely in the dark, to begin with anyway, before all hell broke loose when she found out.

But, while arch enemies on screen, Denise and Sally Dynevor, then Whittaker, became close friends and their friendship is one that has lasted long after Denise quit Corrie in 2000.
And on Thursday, Denise, who is now in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, got together with Sally and other Coronation Street stars at The Church Inn in Mobberley, including fellow Geordie, Angie Lonsdale, Jane Danson, who still plays Leanne in Corrie after joining the soap in 1997, and Nikki Sanderson, who shot to fame as Candice on the ITV soap but now plays Denise's on-screen daughter, Maxine, in Hollyoaks.
Denise uploaded a boomerang of the five of them to her Insta grid and captioned it: " Not quite lunch on the cobbles but on the paving stones!!! Friends for 24 yrs (30 for Ang and me) and still never a pause for breath!! Gorgeous day"
Reacting in the comments section, one of Denise's followers wrote: " This is incredible for any Corrie fan," and, equally excited, another reacted: "Ah that's lovely. Quite the cast there Denise"
Denise is still on screen in the classic Coronation Street episodes that air on ITV3 every week day afternoon and will soon start her romance with Des Barnes, which ended up with the two getting married before his shock death.
