Denise Welch has been left massively flattered by viewers who revealed to her how shocked they were at finding out how old she is.
Denise has been in the world of showbiz for well over 30 years now, appearing on TV in the casts of Byker Grove, Soldier Soldier, Coronation Street and Waterloo Road; as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, which she won in 2012; on stage in the likes of Sunday for Sammy and The Wind in the Willows and even in the charts when she released her cover of You Don't Have To Say You Love Me in 1995.
But two Loose Women viewers were stunned to learn that the Geordie star is actually 62. Yes, Denise was born in Tynemouth on May 22 1958, but the lads were convinced she was much younger.
Taking to Twitter, one posted: "No way is @RealDeniseWelch in her 60s. Genuinely thought she was in her late 40s," and the other replied: "No way. Thought she was like 45/46."
Picking up on their compliments, Denise responded: "Oh boys," with her tweet followed by a series of clapping, thumbs up and heart emojis.
As well as currently being on screen in Loose Women, Denise starred in lockdown series Dun Breedin', filmed in her Cheshire home and has just released new book The Unwelcome Visitor, all about her battle with depression.
