Denise Welch comes out of 'hiding' to see son Matty Healy perform with The 1975

Denise Welch was at the side of the stage to see son Matty Healy perform at Radio 1's Big Weekend, just days after she told fans she was going on a 'little adventure' and was then confirmed to be involved in the new series of Celebrity Hunted.

Taking to Instagram on her 65th birthday, Denise said: "Well... on today, on my 65th birthday, I want to say thank you in advance for all the lovely messages and comments that I've received. I'm going off on a little adventure for a couple of weeks so I'm going to be off here and off my phone.

"I don't quite know how I'm going to cope, but I'm going to give it a try, so don't think I have disappeared. It's just a temporary little holiday and I'll be back soon."

Why Loose Women star Denise's message about her 'break' was rather cryptic, it then transpired that she and husband Lincoln Townley are filming the new series of Celebrity Hunted, the Channel 4 spin-off, that sees famous faces go on the run from a crack team of Hunters and make it right to the end to win big money for charity.

Denise and Lincoln are reported to have been joined in the new series by Strictly stars Giovanni Pernice and Kai Widdrington but, either she was taking a huge risk or has been caught already and left the show as she was spotted on location in Dundee to see oldest child Matty, together with bandmates George Daniel, Adam Hann, and Ross MacDonald headline the Saturday of One Big Weekend.

Dressed all in black and together with Lincoln, Denise was spotted dancing along to the set, with her being spotted by fans on BBC TV coverage, before a clip of her was shared on Radio 1's social media pages.
